Using a Fireplace Blower
This is a great piece of equipment that can help you maximize the amount of heat put out by your fireplace. There are many different types of fireplaces. When choosing, you’ll need to make certain that you select a blower that is designed for use with your fireplace. The blower basically serves two functions.
First, it takes the heated area and channels it through a pipe, allowing you to redirect the heat and spread it throughout the room. You can place it directly in front of the fireplace or place it by the entrance-way of a door. When you place the blower in front of your fireplace, you will redirect the warm air throughout the room. If you place it by a door, you can direct the air to heat up an adjacent room. Either way, you are accomplishing the second feature of using one.
The second feature or benefit of using one is the fact that less warm air will escape through the chimney. This is the best way to derive the most heat from your fireplace and ensure that your room is as warm as it can be. One of the features found in them is that of continuous circulation. With this feature you can continue circulating the warm air, ensuring that the room stays at the best temperature.
In addition to using a blower, you might also want to make sure that you have a screen and glass doors installed as well. A screen is the best way to protect your family, self, and flooring or carpeting from stray embers. When you use glass doors, you can make certain that there is a tight seal around your fireplace. This prevents heated air from being pulled from your room and being taken up through the chimney.
